Dear WASOG members and colleagues, The year 2011 was an important year for WASOG. The website, led by prof. Marjolein Drent and her team, has become an increasingly useful tool for WASOG members as well as others involved with sarcoidosis. A special feature is “Sarcoidosis around the world”, which you may want to contribute your own experience at your part of the sarcoidosis universe. The wonderful meeting in Maastricht in June brought a together a large number of people from all over the world. There were many lively sessions at the meeting and the highlights of the meeting can be found online as abstracts and photo & video impressions. The meeting also helped pave the way for meetings over the next few years in Cleveland, Paris, Turkey, and more. You can keep up to date about these meetings on the WASOG website.
Our journal,
Sarcoidosis, Vasculitis, and Diffuse Lung Diseases, is continuing to
improve, with hopes for expansion to four issues a year in 2012. As editors,
Dr. Cesare Saltini and I want to thank you for the outstanding manuscripts
we have received over the past year. We especially want to thank all of you
who have assisted in the review process of these manuscripts. The quality of
the journal is a reflection of the reviewers. We are unique in being the
only journal dedicated to interstitial lung disease in general and
sarcoidosis in particular.
Finally, this is a good time to renew your membership to WASOG. For those of you who are not members, this is the time to join. I am looking forward to talking with all of you over the next year!
